My Story
Those who know me well are thinking "Christina, running? in the morning?đ"Â I still question this myself!
I am not a Runner, I don't like to run, it is my least favorite physical activity (I prefer cardio combat, tennis or biking, and sleeping) I'm also not an early bird, so a 10km run at 7:30am is way out of my zone. I'm getting up early and training, it's not easy, but I hope I'll grow to enjoy it.Â
I am doing this as personal challenge for an important cause. My goal is to raise $2100 towards camp (Campfire Circle) for kids with cancer or serious illness. My thoughts are with my own adult family and friends who've been/are affected by cancer. I am eternally grateful that the children in my life are healthy, and cannot imagine how devastating a diagnosis of childhood cancer or serious illness would be on a family. A diagnosis of childhood cancer or serious illness changes life in an instant. For kids and families, their schedule suddenly revolves around medical appointments and hospital stays, with long absences from school. There is no time for simple joys like friendships, birthday parties or sport activities.
Campfire Circle is passionate about helping kids to just be kids, once again. By supporting their in-hospital, community and overnight camp programs, you will help bring joy and laughter to kids and families during their most challenging times, at no cost to them.
